THOMAS COLE SIMMONDS

Thomas began working as a fashion and editorial portrait photographer in 2011, being published in dozens of publications, both in print and digitally. He was exhibited several times in his home town of Brighton, as well as being part of group shows in London and New York. He eventually enrolled on a Photography BA course at the University of Brighton in 2015, and it was there that his focus shifted from fashion, beginning work on his [VR]Ography project in which he looked at photography within the virtual world. His period of study ignited his interest in writing, and this, combined with his conceptual work and love of videogames led to the creation of TYPEDBYTOM in 2023. This serves as a new home for his writing, which covers his fashion and virtual photography work, thoughts on videogames, as well as travel diaries.While engaged with this, and continuing projects, Thomas works as an art and photography technician in education.
